On the way home......Wednesday at 6pm. Praise God!

A note from CJ.....

Hi everyone I've been reading your post and I can't believe how many there are. YOU GUYS ARE GREAT. I thank you all so much for praying for me. Isn't God wonderful !!!!!!!!!!! Your comments make me happy and laugh when I am sad. God has showed me that He will give you the grace for every day, so if your scared or worried just remember that. I have learned that when you pray and people pray for you it will help calm you down. So I thank you for all your prayers. Well I am getting ready to go home so I will post again later.
Your brother in Christ

CJ, I am sooo happy to see you at home with your family where you belong! I also want to share one of my favorite Bible verses.

2 Corinthians 12: 9 (Paul is talking about God's response to his request that God remove his "thorn in the flesh")

And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

I think it is so amazing how God uses us through (or in spite of) our weaknesses, to show His own awesome power. I know that I for one could not get through a single day and retain an ounce of sanity, without the help of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So I would say to you, look to God for your strength, and He will graciously supply all that you need. We are all still praying for you here at the Derrickson home, and we will continue until you are healed.
Much love to you and your family,
Amy

CJ,
I am so glad you are home with Allie, Brett, Corey, Mommie and Daddy!!!
Yes! GOD IS WONDERFUL!!, He is always there to give us courage, strength and wrap his loving arms around us. And with the faith and courage you have shown CJ, peoples lives have been changed!!
There are a lot of messages that people have sent to you. People from all over have been praying for you, because you are a special boy and we all love you and your family.
I Love you sooo much CJ, and I pray you have a good day today with your family.
When I read your blog it reminded me of these versus in Matthew.

"The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven" Matthew 18: 1-5

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
"And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.

It Is Well
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Refrain

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

Refrain

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

Refrain

For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.
Refrain
But, Lord, ‘tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of the Lord!
Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!

Refrain

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

Refrain

God is faithful!!! Keep standing and worship Him forever...Marilena & family

Hi, CJ! You don't know us but, we, like SOOOO many other people you have touched but don't know, are still praying each and every day, throughout the day! Mary Jordan, 7, and Sean, 6, pray for you each night and also together with their friends at Queen of Peace in Indiana. You are a boy surrounded by the Holy Spirit! WOW! And you, at 9, are a hero to me, at, well, older than 9! HA! Your wisdom amazes me with each daily blog I read. I feel God is working through you to reach the hearts of others. . . just like Jesus! What an incredible honor to serve our Heavenly Father like this. But, just like Jesus, it is not coming easy, is it my friend? But I know for a fact that your story of faith has lead others to renew their relationship with Christ. . .it has happened in my very own family! So THANK YOU, CJ, for allowing Him to work through you!!!
Here is a little something I have hanging on our refrigerator. Very simply it says:
Happy Moments. . .Praise God.
Difficult Moments. . .Seek God
Quiet Moments. . .Worship God.
Painful Moments. . .Trust God.
Every Moment. . .THANK GOD!
And we thank God for you, CJ, and we give our Father thanks and praise every day for your daily victories!
Peace to you, George Family!
The Gibson's
Chad, Demi, Mary Jordan and Sean
PS!! We understand how bummed you are over the whole No Sports (FOR NOW!!) thing so if your Mom & Dad say it's OK, we would love to send you something to help fill that void. chadanddemi@yahoo.com

Hi CJ! I am so, so happy and grateful that you are finally at home with your family! Yeah, CJ! Congratulations. You have reminded me to be grateful and show my grattitude every moment for everything that I have by the Grace of GOD and not to take even one second with Travis & Jerri-lyn, or anyone that I love, for granted! I am so proud of you for keeping the Faith and being so strong throughout this first trial of your life! You are awesome and I love you with all my heart. I cannot tell you that enough. My heart is overflowing with love for you, CJ. Just overflowing. My friends and I are praying for you non-stop! If my mouth is not moving to speak to someone, then my mind is constantly seeking GOD and praying and listening, even if I am talking, I am usually talking about you, which leads right back into conversations with GOD about you! I love you so, so much and I cannot wait to see you again. You are my hero.
I Love You So Much,

CJ,
It must feel good to be home. Praise the Lord! Life is a little different for you now, but all families are different. These changes are just how your family does things from now on. We had a time where we had to wear masks frequently. They became part of our wardrobe. We got used to clean our house really well and eat more healthy food. We found creative ways of having fun and keep in touch with friends. It was just the kind of family we were and it worked out good. God makes everything work just right to fit His plans. We love you CJ.

CJ,

I'm so happy to hear that you are back home. I have some ideas of ways we can communicate with each other. I can e-mail you through the Wii, if you give me your Wii number. If you had a web cam we could talk to each other and maybe play battleship, or something like that. I'm gonna start to play i9 sports on Joey's team and maybe I could video tape some games and send them to you. You could be like John Madden giving the whole analysis of the game. All these things would make our friendship stronger. I know through this time it will be hard, but God is in control and all your friends and family are with you throughout the journey.

I have a fun questionnaire for you.

What is your favorite football commentator?

What's your favorie video game?

What was the funniest thing that has happened throughout this time?

Who do you think will win the super bowl?

Who do you think will win the NCAA championship?

What was the most disgusting thing they fed you at the hospital?

E-mail me, Ali has my address.

CJ you are a brave soldier remember the Armor of God will help you. That is what Billy wanted me to remind you. He also said to tell you once you get better he wants you to go fishing with him, he had a dream that your family came to visit and we took you fishing.
Faith said, " I love you and I miss you very much, I hope you get better soon. We are very happy you are home !!! Hurray !!"

They pray for you every meal and every church service when the go to prayer requests Faith is quick to put her hand up. Once you get better you will need to bring your family here so we can take you fishing and let you see the farm !
Faith will even let you play with her animals.

God Bless you

As you probably already know, the Lord uses the picture of a soldier for us as Christians and I thought about you recently and this is what came to mind.
Today, if you want to be a soldier you can sign up, but many years ago when we were at war, the government established a DRAFT which meant that if you were 18 or older you HAD to go whether you wanted to or not. Boot camp was months long before being sent forth, but it was here that the men became solders. It was incredibly tough, painful and stretching to say the least, but the officer in charge knew just how much to push his men and what it would take to make them ready for what they would face in the future. Each time you feel stretched or suffer pain in the coming months, may you be mindful that your God knows how much you can take and that He is getting you ready for something in YOUR future. All that you are going through now is not without purpose, but instead to strengthen you and fashion you for something great in the days ahead. Our prayers go with you today, and our hearts long to see what God does in and through you in your future as well.

I am grateful for the doctors and nurses who are taking care of you and making sure that you are getting all of the treatment that you need.
