Dear Son With Love To Mother

CJ and I wrote a poem together while we were at the hospital receiving chemo. I told him I would dictate a line to him about how I felt and he could dictate a line back to me about he felt. I think you will love how it turned out as much as I did.

Dear Son With Love To Mother:

My precious son; my heart aches at all you are going through,
If I could take your pain away I would.

My dear mom; my heart aches at all you are going through,
If I could take your pain away I would.

My precious son; I wish I could protect you from words like
Cancer, chemo, and complete blood counts.

My dear mom; I wish I could protect you from words like
Cancer, chemo and complete blood counts.

My precious son; as I watch you struggle to be brave,
My heart swells with pride and love for you.

My dear mom; as I watch you struggle to be brave,
My heart swells with pride and love for you.

My precious son, I will be by your side every moment,
We will walk through this trial together.

My dear mom, I will be by your side every moment,
We will walk through this trial together.

My precious son, may God grant you the peace that passes all understanding;
Remember His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.

My dear mom, may God grant you the peace that passes all understanding;
Remember His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.

I love you CJ.
I love you too mommy.

To Everyone Who has commented,

I am very happy that you all liked me amd my moms poem. Today I had to get another shot in my leg . It did hurt but I manged to keep smileng. I wanted to thank you all for checking the blog all the time and posting comments. When we were at the hospital getting my shot one of the ladies that plays with all the kids brought in a piece of paper that was and award for being brave when I get my shots. Maybe my mom can post a picture a picture of it for you on the blog. Oh and I got to see Diamond again today. My mom put pictures up of me with her. Thank you for praying for me. I hope to see you all at the walk if my blood counts stay good!

Hi,

Your poem is absolutely beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes. I think the hospital should frame it and hang it up. Many other parents might find strength in it.
Thank you for sharing it

CJ and Dawn,

I can't find the words to tell you how beautiful that poem is. The love and bond you are sharing is so beautiful during such a stormy time. I agree with Nicole that you should leave a copy at the hospital to share. If I have to add a verse each time I would write the same verse each time to both of you as Grandma and Mom. My love for you two is so strong. I am here for you. CJ if you crave pickles again just let Grandma know and I'll get them.
With love to daughter and grandson.

Dear Dawn and CJ. What a beautiful testimony of your love for one another. Your writings continually confirm how great your love is for each other, and how great our Father's love is for both of you. He has given you both the gift of words and continues to allow you to share them with so many. Thank you for sharing what you are going through and allowing us to be in your lives through your writings. Your openness, love and love for our Savior is evident in everything you write and a gift to all who read your words. Finally CJ and Dawn, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy -- mediate on these things. I love you both. CeCe's Mom
