Sunday, September 21

May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;
May the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.
May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests.
Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
He answers him from his holy heaven
with the saving power of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Psalms 20:1-7

This psalm was shared with us today by dear friends and mentors to us. We wanted to share it with you today because we believe God is doing exactly these things for us. He is answering us in our distress. The God of Jacob is still protecting us today. He has sent us help from his sanctuary in the form us all of you who have come along beside us in prayer and fasting and intercession, serving and encouraging. He has accepted our sacrifices of a broken and contrite spirit. We are believing He is and will give us the desires of our hearts or He will change our hearts to desire His best for us. We are shouting for joy when He is victorious on our behalf and we lift up the name of the Lord our God. Yahweh! We know He saves His anointed and answers our prayers from heaven. We accept chemo and doctors and medicines yet our trust is not in them but in the name of the Lord our God. The Great I AM.

God has granted us so much in this last week. We have much to rejoice and be grateful for. We are thankful for all of you who have 'mourned with us as we have mourned and rejoiced with us as we have rejoiced'. (Romans 12:15) Today we rejoice as CJ's blood work came back today with the LDH levels reading high. That is good because that means the chemo is working and the tumors are breaking up. Praise God! His cancer is already responding to the treatments and the doctors have assured us this is a good sign. He is responding well and if he continues to respond well he may be able to go home within the next two days. We were elated at that unexpected news as we were previously told minimum a week. But we are on God's timetable and not the doctors. God knows the desires of our heart are to have our family together again at home so we can walk through this as a family. We are not sure we are emotionally or educationally prepared to take a child home who is on chemotherapy but we are told we will know all we need to know to be and able to monitor and take care of him and we are trusting God to provide the strength, discernment and wisdom we will need. Please rejoice with us as we celebrate a good day for CJ as he had minimal pain. They did not change the port needle or give him the shots we expected so today became a day of rest and recouping for him. We walked him up and down the halls a lot and even got him "unhooked" for a little while and took him downstairs to the gift shop. He tired quickly but it was a nice change of scenery and good to see him up and walking around. On days like this it is easier to cling to hope and healing. We know there will still be many more difficult days to come and we are called to cling to that hope and healing even on those days yet we welcome the days of rest God provides.

Many of you have asked about the PET scan results. We have not heard anything yet but are still praying they will see such a significant decrease in the tumors that it will shorten his treatment. We also must diligently pray for CJ's protection during the chemotherapy and ask that you join us in that. From what we are learning, once the chemotherapy begins to do its job of breaking up the tumors, the major risks become all the side affects and complications. As I previously mentioned we are asking for a miraculous resistance to the chemo for his other organs and his blood levels as it does its job in breaking up the tumors. Thank you to all the prayer warriors that are battling this right along side us. We are amazed at how God is moving the hearts of His people on CJ's behalf. And even moving the hearts of those who have withheld their hearts from Him. God is so good. He has planted a love for CJ in the hearts of people who don't even know CJ personally. That is not something that can be manufactured because you read a story that affects or saddens you. We are humbled at the outpouring of love and ask you to continue to be steadfast with us. Thank you for loving our son. More importantly, thank you for loving God's son. I want to share with you a perspective God gave me to help me through this difficult time. During a time when CJ was in pain and I was begging God to heal my son and relieve his pain, God pressed on my heart that it was His son and I began praying that God would heal His son and relieve his pain and I thanked him for allowing me to take care of his son while he goes through this.

Before I log out for tonight we have had it heavy on our hearts to thank someone in particular. We were going to do it through a private email but decided our lives have been an open book up to now so it would remain that way. Many of you may not know this person but will be blessed by reading our sincere thank you to him.

Mr. Miguel Medina,

We want to personally thank you for your leadership of the worship team and the worship time at our church. We need you to know that your faithfulness and leadership has played an important role in preparing our family for this very day. You have lead us in worshiping our Lord with our whole hearts, in truth and in full surrender. You have filled us with the very words of God and His holy Word that are now sustaining us through this extremely difficult time. Your dedication and sacrifice has not gone unnoticed by God or unused. He has used you tremendously in our family to prepare us for this day. In the most difficult week of our lives thus far, our hearts have meditated on the words you have spent hours laboring over and so faithfully leading us in. Thank you Miguel and family for your sacrifice.

With sincere gratitude,
The George family.

Wow! I thought I would have the first comment, but everyone read it faster then me. lol. So, what's up CJ? Do you think I can? If I can, please call my family and say I can, or just email me. Alibrandi knows my email address. I miss you guys so much! Gees, I never new how much I missed you! Why did I just say Gees? Wow, that is really wierd. lol. God is GOOD! He has been breaking up the tumor! WOOOO HOOOO! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO......... What have you been doing these days? George family, you guys are so strong, and you deserve CJ to get better tonight! You deserve it too CJ! Theo is staring up at me, and "saying": "Tell CJ that I want to meet him, and get out of the hospital soon (whatever that is), and guess what! I like scratching my mommies' feet!" Ya, that was Theo talking. So ya, I am really hyper right now, but UNFORTUNATELY I have to go to bed :p. Sleep well CJ (if you are not already sleeping). My mom sends her hugs, and kisses. Well, I really want to pray for you, and your family.

Dear Heavenly Father God,

I know, I may be saying the same thing all the time, but it is so true! God, please help CJ, because he NEEDS you God! It is so great that you have been breaking up his tumor God, just please help the chemo not affect him in ANY way at ALL God! You are the ONLY way, the ONLY truth, Jesus! Please God. EVERYONE even little ones like MELANIE are praying for him God! We all love you God.

Now for the George Family.

Dear Father God,

The George Family, NEEDS help, and, NEEDS you God! Jesus, Lord, Christ, my King, You can help them, but YOU are the only one, that can help them. Alibrandi is so strong God, she believes in you God! Brett is strong too, because he knows what is going on. Corey, needs you to help him, because right now, he doesn't have a mommy, or at least not at home. And then Mr. & Mrs. George are strong, because they are with CJ the whole time, seeing everything, knowing everything that is going on. Please just help the family God! In Jesus's name.

If you don't want me to pray for you every time I post, just tell me, and I will stop. But every time I post, it is on my heart. Love ALL of you! I love you Mr. & Mrs. George (even though it is kind of wierd), and love you Alibrandi, I love you CJ, I love you Brett, and I love you Cutie Pie Corey. I love ALL of you!

Hello CJ
We are friends of Aunt Jackie's and I don't know if you remember or not but I have a Christopher too and we came over to your house and went out on the boat and played for a while it was Christopher, Ryan and Bryce. Well, if you don't that is fine after all life has been pretty busy for you! I just wanted to thank you CJ. Thank you for letting us all share in your situation. Thank you for being strong enough and brave enough that God chose you to go on this journey. He knew long ago that you could handle this. He knew that when he created you, you would know him and have a relationship with him that would be so wonderful, so strong that you could and would turn to him with the whole world watching. And I know from across oceans at this moment people are praying for you, and in turn they are seeing how even in this, you at 9 can turn your eyes and heart up to him. Even us adults don't do that when we should! People who have no relationship with God are for the first time ever praying to God for you, turning to God with you. Believing that he can heal you! I know this is hard for you, but remember he knew you could do it. And he gave you the most amazing family to be there with you. Thank you CJ for being so brave and strong. I am so proud of you. We are praying with you and calling out to God with you up here in Gainesville! By the way...I know of some people in France who are praying for you now too!!!! I am asking that today everything be glorious for you.
Kristin, Dennis, Christopher, Ryan, Bryce and now Jalynn.

Dawn and Chris, you are teaching us, thank you. You pour your heart here and it reflects the amazing God that we have. I pray for you to have strength when you don't think you have anymore. I pray for everything you ask. I pray for everything as a mother and father you have to be going through in the quiet times. We are all united in Christ, he is hearing and seeing us rise up for him. He is just overjoyed!! I pray for you to be bathed in his love and safety, that you will literally feel his arms around you every moment. We love you guys.

You don't know me, but you have touched me. I feel a great responsibily to not only pray for you, but tell you my story. I had cancer almost two years ago and I am cancer free now (with God's mercy and grace I will be always and so will CJ). The doctors told me many things that discouraged me at times, but praise God they never came to fruition. I am hear to tell you that even though sometimes things seem bleak, God never leaves his children alone and you CJ are one of his most prized possesions. One bible verse that till this day is engraved in my heart and want to share with you is:

Psalm 91
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [a]

2 I will say [b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-

10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation."

Sorry for rambling on ,but I hope I have encouraged you and your family CJ.

God Bless you!

Hi CJ and family!

What a joy it is to come along side you in prayer. I am asking the Lord that you would be able to be reunited as a family soon, and that the Lord will even shorten the ammount of time that CJ has to be on chemo. He can do that! In fact, the Lord can heal CJ right now, completely! And I am certainly praying for that.
But above the prayers for healing, I pray that your family would be strengthened in the Lord, that He would become more to you, and that your lives would better reflect Him in His glory. This is truly the most amazing and gracious thing that we could hope for.

I truly wish I could write a song, make up a crazy dance, paint a picture, give a hug, make a meal, write a poem, clean a house, heal a body, and I may do some of these things :o) but for now, I will do what is far greater than all of these: pray with full confidence of God's plan and goodness.

Do not be discouraged when faced with fear, this is a human response, rather, it is what we do with the fear that defines us. Do we choose to place it on Jesus, or do we suffer and bear it ourselves. I pray that you will lay it in the hands that have been pierced for you.

Much Love

Hi, Dawn, Chris and CJ: I was really happy to read that God has already started to put the chemo into action. That's wonderful! I love the picture of you, CJ. It's really cute. I just came back from Georgia and wanted to tell you that Alyssa, Chad and Lauren want you to get better soon, and they are praying for you every night. Mel and I are doing the same.

Dawn, one of Mel's officers has a daughter, Princess Amanda, at the Joe Dimaggio hospital. They are also dealing with cancer tumors. His name is Carlos Villalona, and his wife Melissa stays with Amanda there in the hospital. I have a feeling she could help you as you go through the treatments with CJ. She is a wonderful, loving person who loves the Lord. When you get an opportunity, try to find her. You will be glad you did. She has a blog on CAREPages there in the hospital, she can tell you about it. We love you all so much and you are in our thoughts constantly. Dawn and Chris, try to stay rested, it helps in giving you strength from day to day. Whatever you need, just let us know. Love, Pam and Mel

CJ, Dawn, and Chris,

I was thinking and praying for you yesterday. I was overwhelmed with emotions. So, I went to church and prayed with my palms up to the Lord during the worship. I pray continuously for your complete restoration. But, I was also giving Thanks for the miracles taking place in my life through this trial. I have really wanted to take God out of the box I have kept Him in so long! How would He ever take the anger away? How would He ever be able to make "ME" happy? How can "I" think about God morning, noon, and night? How could He get the focus off of myself? Well, I can tell you one thing. It is never the way "we" think He will! I wonder how I can feel the way I feel about what you are going through, but, at the same time be at peace and growing closer to GOD? Well service today was on Matthew chapter 5 verses 1-10. Jesus leads His disciples to the top of a mountain. The disciples are wondering why they are going up this mountain. It is hard and they don't understand. Jesus tells who the blessed are. And He says:
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven,
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted,
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth,
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled,
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown Mercy,
Blessed are the pure heart, for they will see God (Thats you CJ), Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God, Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 5:1-10

This one is for you Dawn, Blessed are you when people insult you," persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:11-12

So CJ, thank you again for taking the focus off of myself. Through your trials that have become my own, I am now blessed. This is a very BIG deal. It is going to change my life forever! You see CJ, Happiness is at the top of the mountain. And when we look back later in life, we can actually see the blessings and growth that took place during the treacherous climb. Because the more dependent on God we are, we will have a sense of joy when we look back at what was once so difficult..

AND Dawn,

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for spending endless hours, days, and years in prayer for my salvation. You are a true prayer warrior. And I believe God has shown you time and time again that He HEARS you! So now my dear sister, pour it out to Him and He will answer as He ALWAYS has.

I love you guys.

Your sis and aunt Jackie

My mom shared this site with me a couple of days ago and I've been checking it daily for any updates. I wanted to let you know two things 1)Each and every one of you are in my prayers every day and every night. 2) I am truly inspired by the strength and faith your family has possessed through these extremely trying times. It's been such a testimony to me in my life; to make sure to thank the Lord for all the blessing he gives us and to never take them for granted.

I'm sure I could never fathom what you're going through but my heart is with you. I love and miss you all!

Remember: It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. do not fear or be dismayed. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

Dear friends, I find this words encouraging and very insightful in a eternal perspective hope they bless your hearts, we are looking forward to having you home, closer to us :)
We love you

Spurgeon comments on Luke 22:32: “I have prayed for thee:"
“How encouraging is the thought of the Redeemer’s never-ceasing intercession for us. When we pray, He pleads for us; and when we are not praying, He is advocating our cause, and by His supplications shielding us from unseen dangers….We little know what we owe to our Saviour’s prayers. When we reach the hill-tops of heaven, and look back upon all the way whereby the Lord our God hath led us, how we shall praise Him who, before the eternal throne, undid the mischief which Satan was doing upon earth. How shall we thank Him because He never held His peace, but day and night pointed to the wounds upon His hands, and carried our names upon his breastplate!”

Dear Dawn: I have been looking around on the internet to try and educate myself on B Cell Precurser Lymphoblastic Lymphoma Stage 3 - and a lot of websites speak a language that would require like 2 years of medical school to even attempt to understand, but the one below is really good and is in laymen's terms so anyone who wants to learn more about CJ's disease and treatment can go there to read about it. I just wanted to let you know.
I Love You,
